RESEARCH

I’ve been doing research since 2008 on how traditional and newer media impact the social behavior of preadolescents. I do research with the Children’s Digital Media Center @UCLA,  for the Center for Scholars & Storytellers, Common Sense Media and through my own lab at UCLA.

“I come bearing good news: Out teens are not growing into brain-dead zombies or emotionally stunted sociopaths.”

– UCLA child psychologist Yalda T. Uhls, commenting on more than a decade of research that shows that the Internet does not erode children’s intelligence or emotional connection to the world.
